Description

Native to Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, where is grows naturally in thickets and the open forest, Chaya or tree spinach is a popular leaf vegetable frequently seen planted in home gardens. This plant cannot survive Québec winters, but can be grown as a house plant in pots.

This high-protein green must always be cooked (for a minimum of 1 minute) prior to consumption.
