Lime – Persian

$34.79

The Persian Lime is a cross between the key lime and the lemon. These plants do not require a partner to pollinate or produce fruit. They are hardier than their Mexican equivalent but will nonetheless need to be kept inside when temperatures drop below zero. Frequent fertilizing is recommended for optimal fruit production. If grown in a pot under these conditions and with a well-draining soil, Persian Lime plants can grow up to 6′ tall. It is not recommended to plant this tree in the ground in Quebec (or similar climates) as it is not very cold-hardy.

Persian limes are characterized by their thin, smooth rind, seedless flesh, acidic flavor, and juiciness.
