The Pixwell gooseberry was cross pollinated in North Dakota in the 20s. It is known for being nearly thorn less and for its high fruit yield. The fruits will turn for a pale green to a salmon pink Mid to end July. It is a Cold hardy bush and Self-pollinating. When your plant matures, it will be approximately 3 – 5′ tall x 3 – 6′ wide.

Disease
Gooseberries are prone to white pine blister rust, so avoid planting around susceptible pine trees. This variety has an average sensitivity to powdery mildew (oidium).

Requirements
Partial to full sun. Grows well in most soils. Mulch lightly after planting. Self-pollinating so you don’t need to plant more than one bush.
