This vareity of oregano offers the most pungent flavour for cooking. Plants are very hardy once established. Highly aromatic both fresh and dried. Its tiny white flowers emanate an uplifting aroma, and are very attractive to beneficial insects. Reaches up to 45 cm (18″).

Requirements
Herbs do best in a hot, sunny spot. In these conditions they’ll make the highest level of the aromatic oils that give them their taste and aroma. They also prefer well-drained alkaline soil, pH 6-8.

Timing
You can start the seeds indoors. Transplant when the seedling has grown two sets of true leaves. Sow outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring, but after all danger of frost is past.

Growing
Oregano will enjoy a sunny, warm spot in your garden. It can be divided in the fall and brought indoors to be placed in a sunny spot.
