Marigold – Tangerine
Bright orange flowers on sturdy plants 60-90 cm (2-3′) tall. The flowers are chrysanthemum-like with a mass of bright-coloured petals. The edible flowers, which have a citrus-like flavour, bloom all summer.
Available only as a plant. Not available as seed.
One plant per square foot in the garden.
6-12 mm (¼-½”)
Enjoys full sun and a warm spot in the garden. pH 6-6.5
Seeds will sprout in 7-14 days.
Marigolds are celebrated for their ability to suppress nematodes (parasites).
Sow indoors in March for transplant in April after the last frost.
Pinch the growing tips to allow the plant to branch out. Pluck dry or dead flowers off before they seed.
