Plant 15 cm apart minimum.
Barely cover seeds or sow on top of soil.
Full sun to partial shade.
Seeds will sprout in 7-30 days.
Botrytis (grey mold),downy mildew, powdery mildew, damping off, and root rot may affect poppies. Avoid overwatering and water in the morning. Aphids, leafhoppers, lygus buds, spittlebugs and thrips can also be problems.
Plant seeds directly in soil outdoors in early spring.
Easy to grow and will self-sow without maintenance. Before they bloom pull out unwanted plants. They like well-drained soil, and not to be watered too often once they’ve established themselves.
