Lime – Makrut

$45.01

Produces an average sized lime with a dark, bumpy rind. The leaves as well as the fruit of this plant can be used for culinary purposes. Young leaves can be shredded and used in salads, while mature leaves can be used whole in soups and curries.

The plants need plenty of light for optimal fruit and flower production. The soil used should be a well-draining one: If unable to find a soil made specifically for citrus, an outdoor mix is favorable over a houseplant potting soil. It should be well-watered but left to dry out a bit before watering again, as these trees are prone to root-rot if over-watered. In the winter specifically, these plants will need extra care to be kept humid. Misting the leaves with a spray bottle is recommended. The plants should also be regularly fertilized.
