Pisum sativum var. macrocarpon ‘Oregon Sugar Pod’
8 plants in two rows of four in front of a trellis.
Plant seeds 2.5 cm (1″) deep.
Best in full sun, but can handle some shade. pH around 6-6.5.
Seeds will sprout in 5-10 days.
Keep an eye out for slugs and aphids. Pick off and destroy slugs; aphids can be sprayed off with a strong jet of water.
Direct sow as soon as the soil can be worked as these plants prefer cool weather.
Just plant seeds and let vines climb up the trellis. Keep free of debris to keep slugs away. Snip off bottom leaves for the same reason.
