Brassica oleracea var. capitata f. rubra
Plant a group of 4 seeds every square foot. When 5 cm (2″) tall, thin to 30-38 cm (12-15″) apart in all directions for raised beds.
Plant seeds 6 mm (¼”) deep.
Best in full sun, but cool, moist conditions. pH around 6.5-7.
Seeds will sprout in 7-10 days.
No tolerance to fusarium. Flea beetles, cutworms, cabbage root maggot, cabbage worms and cabbage aphids
Sow indoors four to five weeks before planting outside.
Water early in the day so plant parts above the ground dry as quickly as possible. Control weeds to help keep the pests away.
