Description

Also known as a ground almond, Hanti is eaten fresh or dried in West Africa. Fresh, the small tuber can be chewed (the fiber is not usually swallowed) or pressed to obtain a vegetable milk. Dried and crushed, it can replace nut flour. The plant creates a small grove of grass and the tubers are harvested in the fall.
